Newsletter privacy policy
Pursuant to EU Regulation 679/2016 - General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
a. Identity and contact details of the Data Controller
Berlin Packaging Italy S.p.A., with registered office at Viale C. Colombo, 12/14, 20090 Trezzano sul Naviglio (MI), Italy, Tax Code and VAT Number 01746490158, e-mail: privacy.eu@berlinpackaging.com (hereinafter referred to as "Berlin Packaging Italy", "we", "us", or "our"), is the company that, as Data Controller, collects and processes your personal data pursuant to EU Regulation 679/2016 ("General Data Protection Regulation") (the "Regulation").
b. Purpose of the processing
The data you provide by filling this electronic form available on the website https://www.stocksmetic.com (the "Website") are necessary to allow your subscription to our newsletter and to keep you updated by sending you promotional material (via email) concerning Berlin Packaging branded products, services (e.g., purchasing methods, home delivery services, etc.), initiatives and events, as well as conducting market research (to better understand your interests and improve our offer).
As part of the newsletter service, Berlin Packaging Italy may also, subject to your consent, use technological tools (such as tracking pixels) that enable us to detect the opening of emails and interactions with their content (e.g. clicks on links). Such information is associated with your profile and used to analyze the effectiveness of email campaigns, classify contacts into homogeneous groups (segmentation), assign interest scores, send automated communications based on your interactions, and measure purchases attributable to our emails. These activities are carried out in compliance with your choices in this regard and in compliance with applicable data protection legislation.
If you provide us with the indication of your country, we may send communications relating to events and initiatives relevant to that country, which may also be forwarded by the Berlin Packaging Group companies with which you have or will establish commercial relationships.
c. Legal basis for processing
The legal basis for processing your personal data is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the Regulation.
In order to keep you updated about our products, services, initiatives and events, send you promotional material, including communications tailored to your country, or conduct market research, we require your explicit consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the Regulation.
Furthermore, if you give your consent, Berlin Packaging may use your shopping preferences to provide you with offers tailored to your tastes and needs. Failure to provide consent for tracking and profiling activities will not affect your newsletter subscription in any way: you will continue to receive our emails in standard format. In such case, your interactions with our communications (such as email opens and clicks) will not be monitored, and we will not use that information for segmentation purposes or to personalize newsletter content.
Your consent may be freely withdrawn at any time (see section h. of this notice), without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal, including simply by using the unsubscribe link available in each newsletter or by writing to privacy.eu@berlinpackaging.com.
Consent to email tracking activities described in the section "Purpose of the Processing" is optional and it is collected through a specific checkbox separate from the one relating to the receipt of marketing communications. You may withdraw your consent to tracking activities at any time by using the dedicated link included in the footer of each newsletter, while continuing, if desired, to receive commercial communications.
For individuals subscribed to the newsletter before 29 April 2026, tracking activities may continue subject to appropriate notice, without prejudice to the right to withdraw consent for tracking activities at any time, including selectively, according to the procedures indicated in the section "Data Subjects' Rights".
d. Data required
We ask you to provide all data marked as "mandatory" (generally indicated with an asterisk *), as they are necessary for your subscription to our newsletter. Failure to provide such information, or providing incomplete information, will prevent the completion of your subscription.
e. Methods of data processing and disclosure
Your personal data will be processed electronically in compliance with applicable legislation, in conformity with the requirements of the regulations in force – as subsequently amended and/or supplemented – issued in the field of Personal Data Protection, and, in any case, in such a manner as to ensure their security and confidentiality to prevent their unauthorized disclosure or use, alteration, or destruction.
Your data will not be disclosed or transferred to third parties in exchange for compensation. To enable you to receive our newsletter and to be contacted by Berlin Packaging, your data may be made available (within their respective areas of competence) to authorized personnel of the companies belonging to the Berlin Packaging Group, of which Berlin Packaging Italy is a member, as well as to companies providing us with services [1] useful for managing our website or carrying out marketing activities on our behalf.
f. Data retention period
Your data will be processed for the entire duration of your subscription to our newsletter service or, in any event, until you revoke your consent (which may be requested at any time, including by using the link in all our newsletters). Thereafter, the data will be deleted or anonymized [2].
In the event of withdrawal of consent solely in relation to the tracking activities of email communications, the data collected through such tools will be deleted or anonymized. Data collected through email tracking tools will, in any case, be retained for a period not exceeding twelve (12) months from collection.
g. Transfers of data outside the European Union
In order to enable us to properly manage our Website and, in particular, the newsletter service you have requested, your personal data may be transferred to countries outside the European Union where the worldwide parent company, Berlin Packaging L.L.C., and the companies that manage the newsletter service are located.
Under the applicable law, your specific consent is not required for such transfers to third countries, as these transfers are carried out on the basis of appropriate safeguards pursuant to Articles 46 and 47 of the Regulation, such as the adoption of Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and participation in the Data Privacy Framework Program ("DPF").
h. Rights of Data Subjects
By means of a communication to be sent to the e-mail address privacy.eu@berlinpackaging.com, you may at any time exercise your rights [3] as set out in Articles 15 to 22 of the Regulation, including knowing what data we are processing, how and for what purposes we use it, modifying the data you have provided us with or deleting it, asking us to limit the use of your data, requesting to receive or transmit your data to another data controller, without prejudice to the possibility of changing or revoking your consent.
You can also always object to the processing of your data, in particular for marketing purposes, by using the link in the footer of the Newsletter to unsubscribe.
Furthermore, you may choose to continue receiving commercial communications while withdrawing consent exclusively for email tracking activities, without unsubscribing from the newsletter service, by using the dedicated link included in the footer of each newsletter, separate from the unsubscribe link.
i. Who you can contact to complain
We would like to remind you that if you consider that the processing concerning you violates the provisions of the Regulation, you can always lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Authority (www.gpdp.it), or with the supervisory authority of the country in which you normally reside, work, or where the alleged infringement occurred.
